Course Taker FAQs

What type of device can be used, and how good must the Internet be?

CSM can be used on any internet-connected device, including computers, tablets, and smart phones. CSM is somewhat easier to use on larger screens and with regular keyboards.

CSM requires Internet access, but requires very little data and can work with low-speed service (there are no videos). Your progress is saved after every answer, so if your signal drops you won't lose any work.

What is the Credly badge, and how do I use it?

When you earn your CSM Certificate, you opt to get a Credly badge. This badge can be verified by colleges and employers, and you can add it to your digital resume or social media.

How do I request a Credly badge?

When you register, you can request to automatically get a Credly badge sent to you when you earn your CSM Certificate.

If you did not opt in at registration, you can request a Credly badge at any time after you earn your CSM Certificate:

log in to your account
Click the small image of the certificate in the top menu, and choose "View Certificate Info"
Click the "Request Credly Badge" button

Once you have requested a Credly badge, accept and share the badge following the instructions here.

How do I send a transcript to a college?

Colleges require that you send a transcript from Credly, not simply a link to your badge. You can find step-by-step instructions here.

How long is my account active?

Your SeeMore account will never be deleted by SeeMore Impact Labs unless expressly requested by you.
*Note: if you're assigned to an organization, your organization coordinator may deactivate your account. If your account is deactivated and you would like to reactivate it, please contact your organzation coordinator or email us at support@smilabs.org.

How do I delete my account?

Your SeeMore account will never be deleted by SeeMore Impact Labs unless expressly requested by you. To request account deletion, please email support@smilabs.org and include your first and last name, your email address, and your SeeMore username. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.

Coach/Administrator FAQs

How do I get my organization started?

Getting started is simple:

Register a CSM organization account (15 minutes)
Complete the Planning Worksheet (1/2 hour). We'll get back to you within 3 business days with feedback, and please contact us if you need a faster review
Take the High Performance Coaching professional development (self-paced, 4-6 hours), unless you're using Expert Coaching services
Create a bundle, purchase credits, and preregister students (45 minutes)

Where can I get exportable reports?

In the Toolkit, click "Reports" in the left menu. You'll find downloadable reports that you can open in excel and sort or modify to meet your needs.

Can our coaches earn CSM Certificates?

It is not required, but we highly recommend that they do!

Your coaches will start the CSM Course while taking the High Performance Coaching professional development, which gives coaches a taste of the student experience.

Coaches who continue on to earn their CSM Certificates find many benefits:

It is a strong signal to students that the CSM Course is beneficial for everyone, and not a remedial program.
Coaches gain a real appreciation for the difficulty of the CSM Course, and the attention to detail and hard work needed by the students.
There is no music sweeter to a student's ear or more motivating than when the coach/teacher says: "I really struggled with that skill that you just mastered!"

To encourage coaches to earn their CSM Certificates, SeeMore Impact Labs provides a complementary registration for a coach or administrator to take the CSM Course for every $1000 in credits purchased. Information on assigning these bundles can be found in the CSM Starter Guide.

Should our students take Career Strategies during or after the CSM Course?

Career Strategies can be taken after completing the CSM Course, or interwoven with the CSM Course. Career Strategies will also be available as a stand-alone course in Summer, 2022.

In general, we recommend interweaving Career Strategies within the CSM Course because Career Strategies can be very motivating, and because Career Strategies and the CSM Course are structured differently and can give your mind a bit of a break.

If there's a tight deadline to complete the CSM Course (e.g., 50 hours, or by May 1st), we recommend taking Career Strategies after the CSM Course is complete to make sure that all students have sufficient time to earn their CSM Certificates.

My student created their own account, and I already preregistered an account for them! What should I do?

Don't panic! You can have your student request to join your organization from their account, and reassign the bundle to them. They won't lose their work, and you won't have to pay any more.

Find your Organization Code in the Toolkit in Administration->Manage Students->Add Students
Tell your student to log in, hover over the person icon in the top bar, click Join/Leave Class, and follow the directions to request to join your organization with your Organization Code
In the Toolkit, go to Administration->Manage Students->Add Students and click "Accept/Reject Requests" and follow the directions
If you have assigned a bundle to the account you created for them, unassign that bundle, and then use those credits to assign a bundle to the account they made
